Japanese Mermaids

I had this silly dream yesterday that I can’t get out of my head.

I was in some sort of Asian town, I’m assuming somewhere in Japan. Beautiful Japanese women were everywhere, and I somehow wondered into a building…a school of some sort. I knew some of the women there, because I’d occasionally stop to talk to them.

I soon discovered there was some sort of conspiracy going on that would effect the whole town. I overheard some men talking while bringing in some kind of cargo. When they discovered I’d heard them, they decided to go after me.

Surprise Surprise, I had super hero powers! (My boys talk to me way too much about this stuff!) Have you seen Fantastic Four yet? I could take off all my clothes and be completely invisible like the chick in Fantastic Four! So without ANY hesitation, that is what I started to do. I assured my group of friends that I’d be okay and I was going to stop this conspiracy once and for all. I started to strip. (For being invisible, I looked great naked too…I must have missed the part of the dream where I didn’t ever eat and worked out 5 hours a day).

So I thought I’d stripped off all my clothes and started running from these men. They lost me as I turned down one of the halls of this school. I ran into the Principal of the school, and old Japanese woman who was a part of this conspiracy. She ordered some of the other girls to apprehend me. I looked down and realized I still had on a black bra and black socks. That is why they could see me. Off with the bra.

I struggled to get my socks off and as I got the last one off, she grabbed my arm and took the socks. She attempted to hang the socks over a bar suspended from the wall (close to the ceiling) where she was going to tie my hands until the men arrived. She couldn’t do both, so she told me to hold onto the socks. “okay.” I said.

“What an idiot!” I thought. The moment she let go of me, I was gone. Completely invisible. “Man she’s dumb! She doesn’t need to be working for this school!” I thought.

I made it out of the building and approached a group of school girls who had apparently lost something in a huge pond in the garden area. “Don’t worry, I can get it.” I said. Apparently I thought I also had super lungs. I dove into the pond and about 4 of the school girls dove in with me. I learned that when I was under water, they could see me because they were children! We searched for whatever these girls had lost when all of a sudden, a group of Japanese mermaids approached us. They were beautiful, adorned in the gorgeous kimonos that Japanese women wear, only it was part of their bodies, fins and such. We briefly swirled around with them as they helped us search for the girls missing item (never did find out what it was). Finally, we began to meet at the top of the water. I removed the hair out of one of the mermaid’s face. The water had brought her hair forward covering her face entirely. When I moved her long black hair to the back of each shoulder, she looked up, revealing her beauty. As we talked, we found that each mermaid had the same last name as one of us girls. The first one I talked to had the last name of Jahn. She spelled it out to me. Didn’t sound very Asian, but hey, it’s just a dream! The mermaid stopped talking as if she’d say too much.

Then the rest of the mermaids continued to explain they could only be close with the one who shares their last name. So I started to look at each of the mermaids. Which one was mine? I wanted to know. Each mermaid apparently held so many secrets that they could only share with the one who held their last name. Secrets that a human would never know on their own – Secrets that could set a person free. I just knew there was more to know about the unknown. So I looked at the remaining mermaids, determined to find mine.

That was when I woke up. I guess I’ll never know.
